Included in the cost of your portrait photography package is a pre-session consultation. This consultation is your doorway into the personalised world of professional portrait photography, and the start of our creative journey together. It's a relaxed and friendly chat (either online or in person at one of Bristol's delightful coffee shops), aimed at understanding your vision and preferences for your upcoming portrait session. Whether you have a clear vision or are seeking some guidance, this stage ensures that your portrait photography experience is tailored just the way you like it. It’s not merely a discussion about themes or styles, but also a golden opportunity to break the ice and build a rapport. This way, when the day of the shoot arrives, you’re not just stepping in front of a lens, but engaging in a creative collaboration aimed at capturing the best of what you want to represent to the world.
Professional Guidance on your Vision:
With the ideas discussed in our pre-session chat, I'll be happy offer my professional advice on wardrobe and styling to compliment the themes of your portrait photography aesthetic. I'll also work with you to choose a location which best suits the images you want to capture - whether this is in-studio in a comfortable environment in the centre of Bristol, or at one of Bristol's many picturesque outdoor locations. Your portrait photography session should be as individual as you are, so whatever your vision, we'll work together to tailor the experience to suit your needs.
Comfortable and Relaxed Atmosphere:
I get it, stepping in front of a camera can sometimes feel intimidating. Many people are camera shy, or believe they're not photogenic and are worried about posing or looking silly. Fear not! As your photographer, my primary goal is to create a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere during your portrait photography section.
From the moment you arrive, the entire experience is designed to make you feel at ease, and give you the confidence to express yourself. By the time you step in front of the lens, we'll have collaborated to design a session that captures the vision of how you want the world to see you, and that happens best when you're relaxed.
Part of the joy of being a professional portrait photographer is getting to know the people I photograph. We'll chat throughout the session, laugh, share a few stories, and maybe even put on some of your favourite music. In my experience, I've found all of these things help portrait photography sessions flow naturally, and before you know it, you'll forget the camera is even there.
I'll be providing guidance every step of the way to help you find natural poses that flatter you, ensuring the photographs showcase your unique personality and style. It's a collaborative effort where your comfort is the priority, making the entire experience enjoyable and leaving you with photos you'll cherish.
Remember, professional portrait photography isn’t about capturing a posed, perfect version of yourself, but about celebrating your individuality, and making you feel good in your own skin.
Delivering your photographs:
Every photograph I take during our professional portrait photography session will be provided to you in a private online gallery for you to browse and download.
At this stage, you'll be able to pick your favourites which I'll then edit further to a professional standard in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop to remove any blemishes and add that final layer of polish, ensuring that they are absolutely perfect.
The amount of photographs available for you to select at no extra charge varies depending on which portrait photography package you choose, but additional photographs can always be purchased for me to edit for an extra fee.
Your chosen favourites will then be delivered to you digitally, and can be optimised for social media platforms or even provided in black and white (for that classic, timeless look) at no extra charge.
